「Clinical Epidemiology: How to Do Clinical Practice Research」のレビュー
1985年の初版から買い続けて第3版となる。著者も題名もあまり変わっていないが、10年以上の間隔をあけた今回の改訂は、内容が大きく変わっている。
<br />EBM的な、研究をどう医療現場に活かすかという視点から、現場の疑問や課題からどう研究を組み立てるかという視点への変更である。しかも、どのように研究の課題「research question」をまとめるかという、一番最初のステップがしっかり記載されている。研究というと、統計やコンピュータ操作に重点が置かれがちだが、そのもう一つ前のステップだ。
<br />この本が、EBMを最初に提唱したカナダマクマスター大学のグループによる本であることはよく知られている。そして、第2版はEBMという言葉が発明される直前に出版されている。そこからのほぼ15年を経てこの内容となったことが興味深い。
<br />しかし、この本に貫かれた現場とそこの患者さんやそこで行われる医療内容に焦点を当てている姿勢は変わらない。
